On May 1, at 2:30 p.m., the Board of Trustees chair, Celia May Baldwin, introduced the 9th president of Gallaudet University, Dr. Jane K. Fernandes. The Most students and Staff/Faculty do not agree with this which started to protest against Jane Fernandes. Collections of news coverage, photographs, and links from various sources were compiled by Deaf Hot News, and are constantly updated as events develop.

May 4 - Protesters created a Tent City at Gallaudet's Main Gate. Completed with two big TV sets, laptops, Wi-If network, DJ system even some of grills and cooking equipment - Web of power cords!. (Should I called it - High Tech Tent City?) Tent City has it own store and food are served at every meals. Even it has communication center include meeting area and message board. As May 4, there are about 18 tents, we expected to grow to 25 tents tonight. Tent City population as May 4 is around 150. All outside supporters are welcome to visit Brand-New Tent City.

May 5: FSSA asked everyone to donate money to purchase food and water for all the students at the protest rallies! You can send money via PAYPAL.com - Use FSSA's account, info@gallyfssa.org

May 5. A Tent City welcome anyone who support FSSA are able to stay there at no charge. They supply the tents for 20 bunks each. Two toilets have been installed. Alnmui and RIT/NTID students are check in Tent City. I believe that Tent City's population grow to 250 and over 35-40 tents. ...Washington, DC Region's largest tent city! They are not longer to call this area "main gate"!

May 6: Protesting is still go on. DeafHotNews.net's sponosrs, Deafpagers.com and Deafbuy.com already donated 14 large pizza to Tent City today. All pizza, over 120 slices are gone in 5 minutes.

May 8:Big Breaking News for Protesters- Faculty Senate voted no-confidence int he selection of President Jane K Fernandes by 96 to 49!

May 8: Rainy? ...Tent City is still LIVE!.....Tent City expanded to over 60 tents!, More tents are getting up later. Gallaudet keep Tent City powered and providing wireless internet for entire Tent City with over 200 protesters. - Tent City is also Hub of Communications include mutli web sites inlcude RidorLive.com, Elisa's Xanga, and FSSA's web site plus videphone, IM, SMS, email, etc. There are alot of laptops over Tent City, My guess, over 30 laptops. Donators keep feed residents of Tent City. Threre are 24 hour food tent, anyone can take food for free.

May 9: News over the World - EXPLODED - over 100 newspapers published today include England (UK), Seattle, Chicago, Los Angeles, other cities! Thank to faculty that vote to turn her down.!
