THE CRISIS AT CALIFORNIA SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF AT
RIVERSIDE |
May 30, 2001
Report on CSDR
Hi All-
Tonight, we had a large turn out for the town hall meeting
in the social hall at the California School for the
Deaf. We had about 300 people present which was very
impressive. We need to continue to have that many people
in the next few days and weeks ahead of us.
Many people on the committe had the opportunity to ask
questions about why Dr. Stone was fired. People asked
and demanded her reinstatement. People asked about the
unprofessionalism among the principals at CSDR. People
asked about how Mr Kadish will handle oppression issues
at CSDR. These are some of the few questions that were
asked.
The meeting lasted 2 1/2 hours. Mr. Kadish's hands are
tied to a point due to being ordered to follow procedures
at the "hands" of Sacramento. Therefore, We
are all requesting that we continue our fight to reinstate
Dr. Stone. What I mean by this, Is that parents, staff
and community members wish to continue their protesting
rally on CSDR campus the rest of the week and on Monday,
take their complaint to the steps of the Captial in
Sacramento.
There, we hope we may be able to demand that Henry Der
and Delaine Eastin can meet and confer with us to give
us clarification at the same time, we will request full
reinstatement of Dr. Stone.
As far as I know, Parents have stated tonight that they
wish to continue their visability by protesting in a
peaceful manner on the CSDR campus tomorrow, Thursday
and Friday. Then on Monday, go to Sacramento. I can
inform you of what the plans of actions will be as the
days come ahead. Meanwhile, please forward this information
to people of interest and williness to support Dr. Stone
and our cause to reinstate her. I am very tired tonight.
I have had little sleep in the past 96 hours, so I ask
that you bear with me as I develop master list #9 with
new email addresses I have recieved and then I will
send a copy of this very exact email to those people.
I have also been placed on a mass email block by AOL
because I have been sending too many emails out of AOL
which is in violation of AOL policy and I am in the
process of getting a permit from AOL to mass email people
on an unlimited basis. Until, then I deeply depend on
you to help send email out to people for me. Teamwork
is needed here. I also have email addresses to ALL CSDR
alumni who are registered on the Alumni email list and
will be sending them information regarding the progress.
Please inform our alumni to be part of history in the
making. This is their alma mater, and they can help
with their voice to get changes made. Alumni, Please
join us in our important cause for our children. Community
members join us too. Parents, friends, neighbors, anyone
can be part of this important cause.
.
DrStoneically yours,
Mark Dorsey
